Focus on Profit

When you find a work you love, it's easy to settle into doing what you love and forget the importance of earning money for what you do.

No matter what the job, if profit isn't part of the process of doing business, you lack the ability to function at profitable standards. Your business skills are lacking. You lack focus and power of control over your business.

Economic control of a business requires strategy and insight into the economic future. Prevalent income from a business is simply good planning. Procedural business development results in a profit being built into the system.

Where is your focus? What is your economic stance and position?

Focus on profit.

Blog for Dollars

Everything you see on this page is free. Didn't cost me a dime. It's a free blogger provided by Google.com, and it's easy to get. You simply sign up at www.blogger.com. By joining google adsense, you can add pay per click links to the side of your blog, and earn money by encouraging people to check out the ads on your page.

Provide content for people who want to learn something, and you take your blog a step further and become a community service, or a business enterprise, by selling what you have to offer, either through click links, or actual services. Make your site count and add up to money in your pocket by adding click links that will pay you, as an affiliate of sites online. By referring your readers to othe sites you get paid.

A few suggestions for getting your money making blog site up and going?

Brainstorm an Idea

There are plenty of ideas out there. You just have to find one that interests you enough to talk about it every day, or at least once a week or so. You'll want fresh content at your site. People will come back to see the new ideas and thoughts on your site, and you will get more visiters through your reader referrals. When people find a great idea, they want to share it.

Create an on-going conversation

This goes along with the idea of brainstorming. Start a dialogue (kind of with yourself) about your ideas. Start posting about your new business and getting some interesting content online, so it will begin to draw readers. Send out some invitations to encourage your family and friends, and anyone you happen to network with online to visit and leave comments. Be sure you respond to any comments.

Add Meta-Tags

Meta tags draw people to your website through web search engines and crawlers. Be certain the keywords you choose are appropriate to your site and familiar, popular words describing what your site is about. (More about Meta Tags and writing them in tomorrow's blog.)

Host a site for friends

I noticed a new site today. It looked interesting enough. Several articles worth reading, and even a few short stories.

Gateway Downs is a newsletter for a local writing group, I've asked one of the writers to send me copies of the newsletter, though I don't participate in the group. This one is worth the read, and it's available online.

Penalty of Accomplishment

Have you ever noticed how everyone appears to want more?

They never know what they want more of, but they want more?

The thought crossed my mind recently, as I set up for a conference, that those who don't know what they want, can't possibly want more. If you don't know what it is you want, you can't desire more of it.

Possibilities are endless, as you consider your hopes and desires. It's most important to find a focus and know what you want, then set your sights on that, and commit to obtaining what you want.

I would encourage you to find one thing today that you want, and go get it.

Be the best you can be.
